Ecolution Renewables

Ecolution has been providing renewable energy solutions to the building industry since 1999. We have a team with more than 100 years combined experience in the design, installation, maintenance and now monitoring of integrated renewable energy technologies.

We have installed several thousand systems on a wide range of buildings and roof types. Our primary focus is to install Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal systems to the building industry and the broader commercial sector.

Director – Founder

Kevin Knapp

Kevin Knapp

From 1983 to 1999, Kevin worked in the Mechanical and Electrical contracting business, managing his family business.

In 1999 he co-founded Ecolution to capitalise on the opportunities presented by the renewable energy sector.

In 2004 Kevin graduated with an MSc in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from De Montfort University Leicester.

In 2007, Kevin and Andrew attracted further investment for Ecolution’s development from HBOS.
As Managing Director and now Commercial Director, Kevin has guided the company in to a position as being one of the UK’s leading PV Specialists.

 

Director – Founder

Andrew Knapp

Andrew Knapp

From 1984 to 1999 Andrew worked in the Mechanical and Electrical contracting business working on large contracts for house builders such as Countryside, Barratt and Crest Nicholson.

In 1999 having seen the opportunity presented by renewable technologies, Andrew co-founded Ecolution and took on the operations director role.

His previous experience has helped in developing the operational capabilities of the company. As a result Ecolution has strong relationships with many of the UKs’ leading house builders.

 

Managing Director

Richard Jenkins

Richard Jenkins

Richard graduated from Bristol University in 1989 and with an MBA from Reading University in 1998.
He worked within the FMCG sector for Bass, Mattel and Hallmark, working for clients such as Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, Argos and Woolworths.

In 2001, he moved to Rozone, part of the Rubery Owen Group and developed the business in to the environmental cleaning and chemicals sector.

In 2006 Richard moved to Rentokil-Initial and headed up their Sales and Marketing Operation in the washrooms/hygiene business.

In 2008, Richard joined Ecolution as Sales and Marketing Director and a year later became Managing Director.

 

Commercial Manager

Graham Loft

Graham Loft

Graham joined Ecolution in 2006 with the specific aim to develop the companies profile within the new build housing and construction sector.

Graham came to Ecolution having worked for 8 years in the construction sector with Business Development roles. A broad range of client base in this time including emergency svs, utility companies and specialist construction companies has enabled Graham to gain an understanding of key decision making within different clients and sectors.

Graham has nurtured numerous long standing relationships within the house building sector since 2006 and has acquired the relevant experience to lead Ecolution’s core business Sales team.

 

Operations Manager

Mike Shipp

Mike Shipp

Mike started with Ecolution in 2002 and served a 4 year mechanical/ electrical apprenticeship, progressing through the company to become a senior installer.

Mike managed some of the first large scale domestic/ commercial renewable projects for builders such as Mansells, Balfour Beatty, Bellway, George Wimpey etc which saw him progress further to take up the role of Operations manager in 2009.

Mike now oversees the day to day running of the operations department – delivering projects, adapting processes, labour/ recruitment, and procurement requirements reactively to cope with Ecolutions continued growth.

Ecolution now has one of the best overall operations teams within its sector with the structure and capability to scale up with the planned growth of the company in a controlled and sustainable manner.
